About Faith Surf School :
Tony Moniz started Faith Surf School in 2000.  Faith Surf School is on the island of Oahu and its headquarters is at the beautiful Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort and Spa.  With a passion to share his love and expertise in surfing to all who wanted to learn, Tony has put together a surf lesson that will make any beginner have he most productive time learning to surf.  Tony has been a professional surfer for the past 25 years surfing the ASP World Tour, has been an invitee to the prestigious Quicksilver Eddie Aikau Big Wave Invitational for 22 years, and is known worldwide as a big wave rider and an “Ambassador of Aloha”.  He prides himself in running the best surf school in Hawaii and it is his delight to give surf lessons and stand up lessons for a memorable experience in Hawaii.

Together with his wife, Tammy Moniz, they teach surfing to students as young as 4 to as old as 73, and especially encourage families to surf together. 15 years prior to starting Faith Surf School Hawaii, they held youth surf camps for teens and taught many out of town guests how to surf. Making their passion a part of their business, their greatest reward is when students leave saying their time with Faith Surf School is what they will remember when they think of Hawaii.

Tony’s pride is his 5 children ages 11-17 years old that all compete at the National Level of Surfing. (NSSA)  His daughter, Kelia Moniz, is one of Roxy’s faces and she surfs long board on the professional level and short board as an amateur.  His sons, Micah, Isaiah, Joshua and Seth, are sponsored by Billabong and surf competitively as amateurs on the National level.

In 1991, Tony coached the World Amateur Team. Kalani Robb, Erik Barton, Sean Sutton, and Brian Pacheco were some of the surfers on that team.  He also was in charge of the surf team for Local Motion.

Faith Surf School is Hawaii’s favorite surf school and voted “BEST OF HONOLULU MAGAZINE 2008” in Honolulu Magazine. They keep their classes small to give it a personal touch and being apart of the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort and Spa, they pride themselves in running a 5 star experience.  Faith Surf School is in the heart of Waikiki where Duke Kahanumoku was one of the pioneers of surfing instruction. Surfing started in Hawaii as a sport for Kings and then as training for warriors. Now, it is a prestigious sport that is enjoyed throughout the world.

Waikiki Beach, on the island of Oahu, is Faith Surf School’s play ground.  It is considered one of the best places in the world to learn to surf.  Waikiki Beach is magical and invites all visitors to enjoy so many water sports.  Canoe surfing, diving, swimming, surfing, stand up surfing, body boarding, and snorkeling can all be enjoyed in Waikiki.  Some take surfing lessons and will experience it once in a lifetime.  Others will take surf lesssons and continue to build up their skills and come back year after year.
